Tell us a little about your Art

My art is primarily fantasy and wildlife art. I think everyone has some fantasy in them and that our dreams and fantasies sustain us spiritually. Life would be very dull without a little magic! I always try to go with the flow of a design idea and follow my artistic intuition as it comes naturally to me.

Who were your main influences growing up

My mom was a huge influence; she was always encouraging me to be creative growing up.

Did you go to art school/college or are you self-taught?

I did go to school for my art, the University of Saint Francis, although even before my schooling I feel I was naturally artistic. I feel my talent comes as a combination of the two.

What has been the most rewarding and challenging project you have worked on?

Some of the most challenging works were the animation projects I worked on while I was still at the University, because they were the most time consuming and also sometimes the most technical, which is tough for someone who works on intuition more like a fine artist. I think one of my favorite most rewarding projects from that time was the traditional animation I did back then called “Ashes to Rivers” although I can’t take all the credit for it as it was a group project, but it turned out really well.

What is your dream project?

I would love to make a huge earthship house that looks like a gigantic dragon! I have tons of dream projects that go in and out of my head though, my mind will always come up with greater ideas then I may ever able to produce.

Where has your art been featured? (Magazines, Museums, Galleries, ect.)

I’ve had several “Today’s Best” Features on Zazzle as well as features on various online zazzle blogs. I have painted drums available at Catalpa Tree Shoppe and Elderberry Tree House Shop. I also have several online galleries, my most often updated one is my deviant art gallery: http://shadowind.deviantart.com/

What is your favorite portfolio piece? Why?

It varies as I create more art. Right now I am working on a dragon that I think could turn out quite well, as I would like to do a Year of the Dragon calendar for the upcoming 2012, so at the moment that is my favorite!

What is your favorite art gallery in Indiana? Why?

I don’t know if I have a favorite gallery, I like them all! It always inspires me to see other artist’s work and to find new art and artists I haven’t heard of before.

What do you love about Art?

I love the possibilities, because when it comes to art the possibilities are endless! There is always more to create and no one piece is quite the same like fingerprints every artist has their own style.
